Wizard of Oz- in Korea!

Character Design! Mashing up this famous story with different culture. I twisted the characters' look into oriental style. Han Bok, Hae-Tae, Yee Soon Shin, and Dol Ha-Ru-Bang, and many other stuff inspired.

Bear thumbnails and Moar

Remember that bear animation that I posted long time ago?
So this is how I planned it out.

It only took me about an hour and half to animate the bear on Sunday afternoon at the school studio, thanks to the few days of bear research and thumbnailing.
It's surprising how thumbnail can help so much. I really love doing these
small sketches and figuring out what action I'm trying to achieve.

I also did thumbnails for my spring film right before I jump on animating.

Whoaa

So much work this semester! I've been working on this film,

It's the first film that I completely colored and composited. Never knew coloring and compositing
would take this much efforts and time.

Bear with me while I'm drawing a bunch of bears.

Hey, another post. So in my animation workshop class, we had to design a character, either grizzly bear or alligator, and animate it hunting for food.

This was one of many quick bear designs I've done. Some funky bears, yeah.

I had a lot of interesting bear designs to choose from quick sketches and I decided to go with this one:

For some reason fat characters are really fun to animate/draw, so I made my bear a fat, grumpy looking one.

And here's the finished rough bear animation. Wish I had more time to animate the fish and tweak a little more but ehh.

Flip, flip, flip. Pencil Animations!

Here are some of my rough animations from my third year class.

This was the first week's assignment I've done for the class. I really like the class, definitely my favorite class out of all three years so far.

Week 2 assignment. We had to animate this silly character with some characteristic of Charlie Chaplin.

Week 3 animation. We had to animate a character pulling or pushing something.

I really enjoy animating stuff. It's just so fun! So glad that I took this class.
